Please bring your mask. These can be removed during strenuous exercise, but should be worn when possible. Strictly NO fires permitted. Please bring packed lunches or affordable priced light meals will be available from the Barnyard Cafe. No radios. No claims against the club for loss/death or injury. Your participation is voluntary. Take care. No littering, we leave only fairy footprints!

Tuin van Eden is situated on a farm between the slopes of Suikerbosrand River Valley, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Located 15km from Heidelberg and approximately 70km from Johannesburg.

Tuin van Eden offers a diverse habitat and grasslands. The farm is home to a unique butterfly specie, birds, small mammals and variety of indigenous trees and plants. 

We will be doing a +- 12km circular route from the view site down to the river, back up the mountains, past caves, returning up the mountain to the parking area.

DIRECTIONS

  • Tuin van Eden is approx. 70km from Johannesburg (about 50 min) and 120km from Pretoria (about 1 hour and a half)
  • Directions from Sandton/Randburg:
    • Take either N1 Western Bypass or N3 highway
    • Follow N3 towards Heidelberg/Durban
    • Go pass Heidelberg
    • Take Exit 59 for the R23 towards Heidelberg/Standerton
    • Turn left onto Heidelberg/Balfour R23
    • Follow the road for approx. 7km
    • Turn right and follow road for 1,1km
    • Turn left and follow road for 1,9km
    • Turn right and follow road for 850m
    • Turn right and follow road for 60m
    • You have arrived at Tuin van Eden
  • Directions from Pretoria Central
    • Take either N1 or R21 towards JHB
    • Follow N3 towards Heidelberg/Durban
    • Go pass Heidelberg
    • Take Exit 59 for the R23 towards Heidelberg/Standerton 
    • Turn left onto Heidelberg/Balfour R23
    • Follow the road for approx. 7km
    • Turn right and follow road for 1,1km
    • Turn left and follow road for 1,9km
