Buffelsdrift, Rust de Winter
- Meet at shop Voorwaarts at 07h40. We will set off at 08h00.

Buffelsdrift – Rust de Winter is a 430-hectare, well-kept farm specialising in self-guided game hiking and bird watching. Game include hippo, wildebeest, giraffes, blesbok, waterbuck and zebra. Over 350 species of birds can be found on the property.
The Green Snake Hiking Trail is a moderate, 11.4 km hike leading through a variety of habitats including acacia thornveld, woodland and riverine vegetation along the Elands River. There is a gradual ascent up a hill from where you can see excellent views.

DIRECTIONS
Buffelsdrift 179, Rust de Winter
Search in Google Maps under: Voorwaarts, Rust de Winter (this is the owner’s shop where we will meet. He will then take us to the farm.)
- Buffelsdrift is 140km from Fourways (about 1 hour 40 minutes).
- From Fourways, take the N1 North and drive approximately 110 km (just over an hour).
- After passing the Carousel Hotel and crossing the Pienaarsrivier, take exit 205 from the N1 and turn right.
- Travel for 22.2 km until you see the shop Voorwaarts. This is where we meet. Please try to be on time, as gate access might be tricky if you don’t arrive with the group.
- However, if you are late and we have already left, travel another 3.4km and turn right.
- Drive 1.9km to the farm.
