Set in the heart of the Waterberg mountains, Lindani is a 3000ha reserve offering a selection of game, accommodation options and outdoor activities. With 70kms of cycling and hiking trails through game-filled plains, Lindani offers an exciting bushveld get-away, only two and a half hour’s drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
The Day Hiking Group has booked out both the tented camp with 4 luxury safari tents (2 people sharing per tent – twin or king bed/s) and the camp site (up to 20 people). If camping is not your thing, you are welcome to choose from 10 beautifully appointed, private, luxury self-catering lodges, but you will have to book these through Lindani separately.
Lindani hiking trails
Hiking on Lindani is one of the best ways to explore the farm’s beautiful and diverse topography: from open savannah bushveld, streams and towering sandstone to cliffs, to delicate lichen-covered rocks. The trails have a wide range of plant/ tree species and provide excellent game-viewing and bird-watching opportunities.
There are four spectacular circular routes ranging from 6km to 12km. The trails are well marked and are also available on the Trailforks App, where you can track your GPS location while hiking.
Program:
- Arrive on Saturday afternoon, 27 April, unpack and relax.
- 28 April: The Mountain Trail (11.3km), followed by swimming & relaxing
- 29 April: The Melkrivier Trail (10.2km), followed by swimming & relaxing
- 30 April: The Koperspruit Trail (8km) or Kloof trail (6.5km)
- 1 May: Pack up and depart before 10:00.
Lindani also has a nice crag with various bolted routes for those that want to combine hiking with climbing (bring your own equipment, or liaise with Jenine on 063 204 5248)
Molope tented camp:
Molope’s Safari tents, nestled under the mountain, offer comfortable beds (twin or king) with towels and bedding, and your own wash basin and toilet, in addition to the communal ablutions (gas geysers). The camp boasts a well-equipped communal kitchen and braai area as well as a swimming pool.
Campsite:
The Camp Site is nestled at the base of a beautiful wooded krans and overlooks an expansive game-filled plain. There are four cleared areas for tents, an ablution block with lights, hot showers, toilets and hand basins as well as a double sink with hot water for dishes. No plug points available.
