Situated at the foothills of the Magaliesberg, near Hartbees-poort, Piesangkloof offers unguided hiking trails in an unspoilt nature area.
The hike has a few technical sections and challenging, (rocky, steep, ascents and descents) but with a gorgeous scenic route/views. The first half of the 8km trail through the gorge is easy to moderate. The second half where you come out of the gorge is moderate to difficult due to the amount of uphill. It just depends on how fit the hiker is.
They are pet friendly (by prior arrangement) and there is braai facilities for after the hike. Remember to bring your own food, charcoal and braai utensils as there are no shops in the immediate area.
