Due to the November heat, we decided to do something different this time. Please join us for the Dayhikers’ first sunset hike on Saturday afternoon!

We will be hiking the Bloubos, Beacon, Ray’s Ruins and Kiepersol trail loop at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve in the south of Johannesburg. It’s a beautiful trail with diverse scenery which should take about 2 hours to complete. The reserve closes at 18:00, so we should have plenty of time to finish the hike. 

After the hike, we will be meeting at Just Darling Restaurant for dinner, which is situated near the reserve. Please let Hantie know if you will be joining us for dinner, so that we can reserve a large enough table. For menu options see Food Menu – Just Darling at Thaba .  

  • Meet in the car park at 15:00. We start hiking at 15:30.
  • Difficulty rating: 7,6km moderate difficulty (requires some fitness).
  • Entrance fee: Only the R20 club fee.
  • Dinner afterwards will be at Just Darling Restaurant – please RSVP if you are joining us.
  • Bring: Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, 2lt of water.
  • No radios or pets. No claims against the club for loss/death or injury. Your participation is voluntary. Take care. No littering, we leave only fairy footprints!

Search for Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve on Google Maps.
Please note that there are two entrances to the reserve. Make sure to use the main entrance on Peggy Vera Road.

Meet in the parking area at 15:00. We start hiking at 15:30.

REQUIREMENTS:

Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, at least 2lt of water, snacks.

ENTRANCE FEE:

Entrance to the venue is free. Please bring your R20 club fee in cash.
