Bekker Trails is situated at the Bekker School in Zeekoeihoek, Magaliesburg. There are 3km, 6km, 8km, 10km and 16km trail options to choose from. We will probably opt for either the 8km or 10km, depending on the group. 

The first 8km of the 10km trail was fairly flat and easily manageable. The trail has a variety of landscape, ranging from lush forests, the Magalies river, working farmlands and mountain scenery – a real feast for the eyes. The final 2km is more technical, with a steep mountain elevation and descent back to base camp. A hiking pole will be beneficial on this section. The trail is well marked and well maintained. 

There are braai facilities, and braai packs available at R50 per person.

• Meet in the reception car park at 07:30. We start hiking at 08:00.
• Difficulty rating: 8 or 10km moderate difficulty (requires some fitness).
• Entrance fee: R100 per person, including a R20 club fee.
• There are braai facilities and braai packs can be bought on the premises. You may want to bring snacks which you can eat along the way.
• Bring: Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, 2lt of water, braai lunch.
• No radios or Bluetooth speakers. The trail is pet friendly, but dogs are charged for at R30 each. No claims against the club for loss/death or injury. Your participation is voluntary. Take care. No littering, we leave only fairy footprints!
