Berg en Rivier is a laid back country retreat situated in a natural environment with scenic hiking routes, bird life and river activities such as fishing and tube rides. There are also mountain bike and 4×4 trails.

The owner recommends the 15km trail, which runs from the main lodge down to the river, which it follows for 7km. Thereafter the trail ascends into a boulder hill with a beautiful view, before turning back to the bush camp through partly shaded areas along the river.

• Meet in the reception car park at 07:30. We start hiking at 08:00.
• Difficulty rating: 15km moderate difficulty (requires some fitness).
• Entrance fee: R170 per person, including a R20 club fee.
• There are braai facilities. So please bring a packed or braai lunch and charcoal. You may want to bring snacks which you can eat along the way.
• We will have access to a swimming pool – so bring your swimming trunks & bikinis.
• Bring: Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, 2lt of water, braai lunch.
• No radios. Pets only if arranged with the venue. No claims against the club for loss/death or injury. Your participation is voluntary. Take care. No littering, we leave only fairy footprints!
